New Ford Focus

No other automaker offers the kinds of body style choices that Ford Focus does (based on 2006 industry information). Four body styles are offered: the ZX3, a three-door hatchback; the ZX4, a four-door sedan; the ZX5, a five-door hatchback; and the ZXW, a wagon. Three engines are offered. Most come with either the 130- or 136-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder. They are paired with the five-speed manual transmission, standard on some versions, or a four-speed automatic. The ZX4 ST comes with a 151-horsepower, 2.3-liter four-cylinder and a five-speed manual.

You can’t control rising gas prices, but you can control how smartly you use the gas you buy.

You do things like combining your trips. You plan your route to drive the shortest distance. You don’t speed or accelerate too rapidly. And you make a smart choice in the vehicle you drive. A smart, sensible, vehicle that also has a little pizzazz under its bonnet.

A vehicle like the 2007 Ford Focus.

Focus offers two engines that are downright stingy with gas, getting up to 37 mpg on the highway. The Duratec 20 16V I4 and the super clean Duratec 20E, available in the Partial Zero Emissions (“PZEV”) Focus (Standard and required in S, SE, and SES series in the states of California, Massachusetts, New York, Vermont and Maine and optional in S, SE and SES series in the border states.)
